Dakuku Peterside, the governorship hopeful of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, has responded to the rejection of the Rivers Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) legislators in the National Assembly.
He said truth had won, commending the decision of the bid court sitting in Abuja, This Day reports.
In a consistent judgment conveyed by a board of three judges, the decision of the National Assembly individuals from the Rivers PDP was invalidated.
Talking soon after the declaration, Peterside portrayed the court's decision as triumph for the general population of the state and the individuals who voted amid the March and April general races.
He said: "I realize that everyone in Rivers State, incorporating our rivals in the last broad decisions, expected these clearing judgments in light of the fact that we were all witnesses to the across the board viciousness and abnormalities that damaged the different races.
"As a gathering, and reputable subjects, we are upbeat that finally, light has dominated murkiness, and this in itself is empowering. In spite of the fact that the excursion has been winding and most difficult yet we have stayed undaunted knowing very well indeed that at all times, truth will dependably take the spotlight over falsehoods and abhorrence, regardless of how hard individuals attempt. Hence these milestone judgements are vindicating and encouraging."
As per him, the court decision was an indication this was another Nigeria that won't permit a couple to smother the voices and aggregate choice of the lion's share.
He exhorted the PDP to deal with the new reality which strongly severely dislikes constituent roughness and misrepresentation, including that no general public can push ahead in a climate of viciousness, obliviousness, narrow mindedness, intimidation and every single other bad habit.
"As an individuals, we must endeavor to stay common and obliging of different perspectives regardless of our position for that is the best way to bolster the development and sustenance of majority rule government and freedom," the APC governorship competitor said.
He in this manner approached the general population of the state to bolster the APC in the forthcoming re-run decisions over the state saying: "We can't bear to bolster hopefuls who are apparently ailing in limit and in all the essential instruments required in advanced administration."
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on December 10, upset the decision of Senator George Thompson Sekibo speaking to Rivers East Senatorial District in the National Assembly since 1999, requesting a re-run race.
Favoring Nsiegbe speaking to Port Harcourt Constituency 2 in the Federal House of Representatives on the PDP ticket was likewise released.
